Product ShowcaseRapid Displays Creates Mount Display Without Peer
What's more, the new display had to be a departure from the previous instore unit used by Peerless, which was dark in color, did not invite the eyes of consumers, and didn't provide the requisite shelf space, Kooistra recalls. Kooistra first met with Rapid Displays at the In-Store Media Expo in September 2005, and conveyed his pressing need for new displays. In less than a week, Rapid conducted store audits and presented Peerless with general design concepts. Those concepts were fine tuned by Peerless and Rapid, resulting in a final prototype by December. The finished display debuted the following month at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The result is a display that represents a substantial upgrade over its predecessor. "It allows us to use two full sides for showcasing the mounts, but still permits a middle area for stocking," Kooistra says. "The consumer can walk up to the display and take a mount box off the display. It provides more information, and is more inviting." Measuring 36 inches long by 18 inches wide and 72 inches high, the display features 3/4-inch-thick melamine measuring 36 by 55 inches, with matching edge banding, and 1/4-inch clear acrylic with 8-by-20-inch digital printed graphics applied to a 3/16-inch green acrylic header, and cut to size. It is supported by four locking casters. Since the production of the first display program, Rapid Displays has designed two additional displays for Peerless.
